Who is this support for?
Cleaning itself isn't a problem. However, if anxiety about dirt, the need for repeated cleaning, or the amount of time spent on these activities disrupts daily life, then support may be needed. At Pearl Therapy, these difficulties are listened to without judgment, and appropriate support options are discussed.
What can we discuss in the meetings?
- The impact of cleaning concerns and repetition on daily life.
- Tensions within the family due to cleanliness issues.
- Emotional burden, shame, and difficulty asking for support.
- Accessing appropriate expert support and defining consulting goals.
How does the process proceed?
The initial consultation will focus on how long the difficulty has been ongoing, how much time it has lasted, and how it has affected your life. If appropriate, a counseling plan will be developed; any need for clinical evaluation will be prioritized.
Consultations are conducted in Turkish. The suitability of online or in-person options will be assessed based on your needs prior to your appointment. The number of sessions and the consultation schedule vary from person to person; no guarantee of results or improvement within a specific timeframe is given.
Scope of service
This service does not diagnose OCD and is not a substitute for clinical treatment. If OCD is suspected, evaluation by a qualified psychologist or psychiatrist is important; necessary specialist referral options will be shared.
Pearl Therapy's counseling service focuses on discussing needs, addressing emotional and relational difficulties, and evaluating appropriate support options. When a specialist referral is needed, the professional role of the service provider and appointment requirements will be explained separately.
You are not asked to conduct intensive exposure trials on your own. The support to be provided during the sessions will be assessed within the limits of need and competence.
Frequently asked Questions
Is it possible to have an online meeting?
Video calls may be arranged when appropriate. Expectations and the suitability of the service are assessed during the initial communication.
What is discussed during the first meeting?
Your challenges, expectations, current support process, and next steps will be discussed. The consultation alone does not constitute a medical diagnosis or commitment to treatment.
